People at the top fall in to one of the following groups:
-Strength and Conditioning coaches
-Sports specific coaches
-Physical Therapists
-Some combination of the above with or without a psychological focus.
S&C coaches:
-Need lots of connections
-Need to be physically impressive and charismatic
-Need to have at least a Masters Degree.
-Low pay, long hours.
Sports specific coaching:
-Need to have personal accomplishment and great understanding of your field of study.
-Connections
-Good teaching ability
-Trusted by the tribe
PTs:

Lots of student debt.
Interestingly, the sports psychology field is overlooked, even though we know the mental game is everything.
I will focus in sports psychology.
